Born and raised in the Saginaw Valley
Proud to be a Moms Demand Acton Gun Sense Candidate!
Henry is a Pure Michigander. Born in Saginaw, raised on a small farm near Burt, graduate of Birch Run High School and the University of Michigan. Henry is running for the State Senate because he remembers when the Michigan way of life was the envy of the country. He is running for the State Senate to fight for all of us.
Henry knows hard times. His father passed away when he was 14 months old. The farm soon went fallow, his father’s social security checks didn’t go far, Henry’s mother closed the house and moved in with family in California during the long Michigan winters. The two lived on her deceased husband’s social security checks.
But Henry was lucky. A progressive jobs program soon allowed his mother to study nursing, she became a Licensed Practical Nurse. They weren’t rich, but Charlotte could squeeze a penny. The image of her dutifully recording every little expense and every nickel found with a black and red mechanical pencil in the household ledger is burned into Henry’s memory. They were going to be alright. In 1979 Henry graduated from the University of Michigan and joined the Air Force.
Twenty-seven years later, having served around the world and this great country he retired as a Colonel. Along the way Henry commanded a Squadron and a Group. He earned a Master’s Degree, completed the Air Command and Staff College and the United States Air War College. After the Air Force he worked as vice-president for two small companies, experiencing firsthand the ins and outs of small business life. He returned to Michigan in 2013 to take care of his recently deceased mother.
Henry married the love of his life, Eva Pelissier in 1982. They have one son, Thomas of whom they are very proud.
Henry is running for State Senate because he knows what State government can do to make our lives better. He has three broad goals for Michigan:
1. Fix Michigan’s Economy and Educate Michigan’s citizens
2. Repair Michigan’s Broken Political System
3. Support Michigan’s Veterans Affairs
He wants to make Michigan work for everyone,
not just the rich.
Henry is a proud member of the University of Michigan Alumni Association, serves as the Commander of the Owosso Civil Air Patrol Squadron, is a member of Whitetails Forever and Trout Unlimited.
